The Night Sky Delivered For Tanya’s Wish

From Melbourne’s leafy eastern suburbs, Jonathan and Tanya were as keen as mustard to spend a leisurely evening looking through our telescope at a fabulous selection of the southern sky’s best views. Starting off with gas giant Jupiter – its coloured bands and Galilean moons in full view, the tour swung across the northern sky to The Great Orion Nebula, a beautiful star forming region looking like a work or art fresh from the easel of a great painter.

The stage was set for a glorious tour in glorious sky conditions. Some three hours later, many wonderful sights had been visited and examined – sometimes through multiple eyepieces for a different perspective. Explanations are given and size and distance – the whole scale of things, attempted to be conveyed. In the end, Earth and Mankind’s preoccupations seem a pretty trivial affair in the grand scheme of things, albeit as fabulous as our little place in the universe is!

Tanya and Jonathan loved their tour. It delivered everything and more, the couple were hoping it might. One night away out of Melbourne had enriched their life experience a little bit more.
